Mr. Pauly is a
litigation attorney, specializing in all aspects of business, real
estate, commercial and entertainment law. He regularly lectures on
issues of receivership and judicial foreclosures. In 1993, Mr. Pauly
was appointed to the Los Angeles Superior Court’s Ad Hoc Committee
on Receivership by the Honorable Robert M. Mallano, Presiding Judge.
He has served as a supervising attorney in a clinical program for students
at the University of California, Los Angeles School of Law and is a
Special Master for the State Bar of California. He is a founder and
former member of the Board of Directors of the California Receivers
Forum and a volunteer attorney for the Alliance for Children’s
Rights. Mr. Pauly is active in the American Bar Association, State
Bar of California, Los Angeles County Bar Association, , and Association
of Business Trial Lawyers. He is a member of the Judicial Appointments
Committee of the Los Angeles County Bar Association and is the former
Chair of the Los Angeles County Programs Committee of the Litigation
Section of the State Bar of California and a former member of the State
Bar’s Committee on Administration of Justice, as well as the
Los Angeles County Bar Association’s Federal Courts and Practices
and Attorney-Client Relations Committees. Mr. Pauly served as an extern
law clerk for the Honorable David W. Williams, United States District
Court Judge for the Central District of California. He earned his Bachelor
of Arts in Business and Administrative Studies cum laude in 1976 from
Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Oregon, and graduated in 1979
from the UCLA School of Law, where he was named a Distinguished Advocate
in connection with the Moot Court Honors Program. Mr. Pauly also serves
on the Los Angeles Advisory Board for Facing History and Ourselves
(www.facinghistory.org) and is a member of the Board of Trustees for
The Mirman School for Gifted Children.
